But one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
The Lord once made me realize that in life we can either spend time mourning or take charge of our lives. There is a time to mourn, but there is also a time to get up. Don’t waste your time dwelling on the past, you must look to the future with hope.
Every day opens up new possibilities. The Lord can allow new opportunities. Rise up, fight, there are still good things ahead.
The prophet Jeremiah also lived in lamentation. The Lord, to soothe him, will tell him “my goodness is not exhausted, it is renewed every morning”. Jeremiah was certainly too focused on the past, the people had rejected him and locked him up in a cistern.
We all go through difficult times, situations that hurt us. Maybe the people you put your hope in have disappointed you. Don’t fall into the enemy’s trap, stop wallowing. You must now get up and move forward! The future belongs to those who don’t let themselves be defeated: get up and move forward!
