As we roll into the \u2744\ufe0f Advent season \u2744\ufe0f I\u2019m reminded again that \u201cHe alone is worthy\u201d. Not me. Not you. Not anybody else. Just Jesus.<\/p>\n
Honestly, I find myself singing the refrain of this classic Christian Christmas carol all on its own sometimes: \u201cO come let us adore Him. For He alone is worthy.\u201d<\/p>\n
There\u2019s some irony to this: we can\u2019t really *go* anywhere! Many of us find ourselves in lockdowns at home with what could be a long winter ahead.<\/p>\n
But that doesn\u2019t mean we can\u2019t come to Jesus in our own way. Once upon a time, there was a monk who worked in the kitchens. His name was Brother Lawrence, and he wrote a book called \u201cpracticing the presence of God\u201d.
\nIt was a profound book on prayer and work but it came to a simple point: \u201cGod is the Lord of the pots and pans\u201d. The task you have in front of you can, if you let it, be an act of worship. It\u2019s not the only thing, but it can be a way for you to \u201ccome and adore Him\u201d even if you\u2019re unable to leave your house.
\nSo whatever you do today, in your everyday, ordinary life, do it as unto Jesus\u2013with great love, peace, and grace.<\/p>\n
