I like the original hymn better. The man who wrote it was depressed. He wrote the song looking for the Holy Spirit to come to him.

This mutilation is what happens when modern artists who don't have a basic grasp of English attempt to "improve" a magnificent hymn written by a true poet. The pronouns, "Thou" and "Thy", as used by Robinson follow that as used in the Bible, that is, they are singular, while "you" and "your" are plural. Hence the added lyrics: "Hear Your bride, to You we sing, come, Thou Fount of our blessing" are not only grammatically incorrect, they are confusing and present God the Father, who is being addressed, as a plurality.If you must create sensual, carnal and worldly "worship" music, could you please do so without defiling our beloved hymns?
