Kingdom Dreamers - KXC, Tom Eccleshall - New Song Cafe: KXC, avec Tom Eccleshall, offre "Kingdom Dreamers," une louange exprimant une vision céleste pour le royaume de Dieu.
This song is like so many typical modern worship songs. It imagines and hopes for a revival in which God does miracles. As if the presence of miracles is a key attribute of the kingdom that God would like to establish. The truth is that the presence of miracles is no guarantee of revival – Israel wandered around the desert for 40 years with their food miraculously growing out from the ground and it didn't soften their hearts. But even more importantly it alone isn't proof that God is present in character – in many situations God chooses character over power. That for example is what his gentleness is.The only thing that resembles any mention of the character of God in this song is the mention of violence being turned to peace and addictions being broken. That's not nothing but it's a long way from a successful attempt to get to the heart of who God is. The heart of God is revealed no more clearly than in the cross – God is holy, just and merciful, the latter two being his love, and he longs for a kingdom which is an expression of that holiness, justice and mercy. It's actually impossible to open your mouth and not talk about these things if your life is a non-stop experience of them – if your relationship with God is centred on his holiness, justice and mercy. The only way to know/experience these attributes of God is to know God IN OUR SIN – only this is saving knowledge – the only knowledge of God which will lead him to say about us – "I know you" – see Matt 7:19-23.
