I genuinely think this is a great song full of gospel truth and am a big fan, but it would be super easy to sub the lyric 'a man condemned' for 'I am not as one condemned' or the like, especially for a congregation. It seems unnecessary to insist that everyone thinks of themselves as 'men condemned' when not everyone is a man. This is especially important since the song is referring to our individual standing before God as condemned (and it isn't talking more abstractly about 'man' as in 'mankind'). I think it takes away from an otherwise brilliant and encouraging song and could be made more inclusive to Christian sisters – all grace and peace xx
